To advance the university’s long-term vision of "Global NPU, World-Class Aerospace, Maritime, and Aviation Leadership" and implement its near-term "127" development goals, the School of Cybersecurity is deepening its talent-driven strategy for the new era to identify and attract outstanding global talent. From February 26th to March 1st, 2025, a delegation from the school, led by Party Secretary Zhang Wentao and accompanied by national-level overseas talent Liu Yunshu, visited universities in Singapore for talent exchange talks and international collaboration activities, in line with the university’s global recruitment initiative.

On February 26th, the delegation held a cybersecurity-focused talent exchange session at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The event attracted numerous scholars in the field, with the venue filled to capacity and a vibrant atmosphere. During the session, Zhang Wentao introduced the university’s profile, the school’s development history, research platforms, team-building efforts, and talent support policies. Liu Yunshu, drawing from personal experience, shared her research achievements and insights on applying for talent programs, explaining why she chose to return to China, join NPU, and become part of the School of Cybersecurity. In closing, Zhang Wentao highlighted the nation’s strategic support for cybersecurity and the university’s strong emphasis on the discipline. He expressed the institution’s eagerness to recruit top talent and called on scholars to align with major national strategic needs to fulfill their aspirations and realize their potential. After the session, the delegation engaged in detailed discussions and policy explanations with attending scholars.

The delegation also participated in talent exchange events organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). At each session, they presented the school’s current development and unique strengths, followed by in-depth discussions with scholars on career prospects, talent program applications, and team-building. The delegation made every effort to encourage outstanding young scholars to apply for overseas talent programs through the university.

During the visit, the delegation toured the cybersecurity laboratory at NUS and held discussions with alumni from Will Semiconductor and Singapore Management University (SMU). The delegation shared the recent achievements of NPU and the School of Cybersecurity, and both sides explored potential collaborations in areas such as student summer programs and talent referrals. The alumni expressed strong willingness to contribute to the development of the university and the school.

This talent exchange initiative in Singapore yielded significant recruitment outcomes, broadening talent channels and revitalizing the school’s talent pool in Singapore. Moving forward, the school will further refine its targeted outreach, adopting "one-on-one" communication and "point-to-point" implementation strategies to strengthen the precision of global talent recruitment. By gathering outstanding minds from around the world, the School of Cybersecurity is committed to building a top-tier, model institution in the field.
