To strengthen international collaboration, enhance global education standards, and advance the implementation of international cooperative projects, a delegation from the School of Cybersecurity, led by Dean Wang Zhen and Vice Dean Liu Jiajia, visited Malaysia from November 17th to 20th, 2024.

On November 18th, the delegation visited the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM) and held discussions with Prof. Nurhizam Safie, Dean of the Faculty of Information Science and Technology, and Prof. Ridzwan, Vice Dean. Both sides introduced their respective institutions and explored potential collaboration directions and specific projects. Detailed discussions were conducted regarding short-term student exchange programs, reaching consensus on curriculum design and organizational frameworks. A cooperation agreement for student exchange programs was successfully signed.

Subsequently, the delegation toured UKM's cybersecurity laboratory, gaining insights into the university's latest research achievements and technological advancements in cybersecurity.

Established in 1970, UKM is a leading research-intensive university in Malaysia, ranked 28th in the 2024 QS Asia University Rankings. Its data science program is highly reputed. The signed agreement on student exchanges and faculty visits will foster academic collaboration and broaden the international perspectives of faculty and students from both institutions.

On November 19th, the delegation visited Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), engaging in in-depth discussions with Lai Shun An, Director of the International Office; Prof. Yap Wun Shee, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and Dr. Ho Mei Hao, Head of the Computer Science Department. Prof. Liu Shaoyu, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, and Prof. Wu Fuyuan, Vice Dean, also participated online. Director Lai extended a warm welcome to the delegation, followed by introductions from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology regarding their development and talent cultivation initiatives. Dean Wang Zhen provided an overview of NPU and the School of Cybersecurity. Both sides discussed joint research projects, student exchanges, faculty visits, and academic conferences, laying the groundwork for future cooperation.

The delegation concluded the visit by hosting a talent recruitment session at TAR UMT, presenting the university and school's recruitment policies, career development platforms, streamlined application processes for young scholars, policy support, and available resources. Attendees expressed strong interest in joining NPU. The session deepened Malaysian scholars' understanding of the university and the school, strengthened international ties, and expanded talent recruitment channels, achieving excellent results in talent attraction and institutional promotion.

This visit to Malaysian universities facilitated the expansion of the School of Cybersecurity's educational collaboration network under the "Belt and Road" initiative, broadened avenues for international education, and provided high-quality external resources to comprehensively enhance the school's global teaching and research capabilities, accelerating its development into a world-class cybersecurity institution.
