The 12th Soaring Young Scholars Forum Sub-forum of the School of Cyberspace Security at Northwestern Polytechnical University Successfully Concluded

To thoroughly implement the university's talent-strengthening strategy in the new era and align with its "127" development goals, the School of Cyberscurity successfully hosted the 12th Soaring Young Scholars Forum Sub-forumonline on June 19. The event attracted over 20 young scholars from renowned institutions worldwide, including the University of Adelaide, the University of Melbourne, the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore Management University, Concordia University Canada, and Peking University. Members of the School of Cyberscurity leadership, young faculty representatives, and student representatives participated in the forum, which was presided over by Dean Wang Zhen.

Dean Wang Zhen delivered the opening speech, extending a warm welcome to the young scholars from home and abroad. He introduced the university's general profile, the development history of the cyberspace security discipline and the school, as well as the distinctive strengths of the university in cybersecurity. He particularly emphasized the university's talent recruitment policies and support for career development. Dean Wang highlighted that NPU has implemented a multi-level, comprehensive talent support system at the national, provincial, and university levels, fostering a well-structured talent reserve to bolster national strategic talent development. Additionally, as the school has been selected for the new phase of the National First-Class Cybersecurity School Demonstration Project, it will provide substantial support in terms of funding, student enrollment quotas, and talent recruitment to facilitate the rapid growth of young scholars. He sincerely invited outstanding young scholars from around the world to join the school.

Following this, six young scholars from the University of Adelaide, the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Peking University, and other institutions presented their academic reports. The topics included "Collaborative Security Control for Autonomous Systems," "Verification and Security in EDA," "Accelerating Homomorphic Computation for Hybrid Schemes Based on Operator Set Normalization," "PAGE: Equilibrate Personalization and Generalization in Federated Learning," "Tensor Regression Methods and Applications," and "Blockchain System Design and Applications." Attendees engaged in lively discussions on the content of these reports, showcasing their insights in their respective academic fields.

In conclusion, Dean Wang Zhen expressed his gratitude once again to the participating experts, young faculty members, and students, and extended a heartfelt invitation to outstanding young scholars to join the school. The school will spare no effort in providing excellent working conditions and fostering a collaborative academic environment to support the rapid development of young faculty members, enabling them to achieve leapfrog progress and collectively contribute to the school's future. This forum aimed to serve the major national strategic needs of building a strong cybersecurity nation, focusing on international academic frontiers and disciplinary hotspots, while providing a platform for outstanding young scholars worldwide to exchange ideas and collaborate academically. The School of Cyberscurity will actively respond to the "talent-strengthening" strategy, seize the opportunity presented by the forum to attract talent, and advance the school's talent team development with full dedication, laying a solid talent foundation for achieving the university's "127" goals.
