On the afternoon of September 12, the Second Cybersecurity Culture Festival of Northwestern Polytechnical University was inaugurated at the Aoxiang Student Center Square in Chang'an Campus. Attending the opening ceremony were Chen Zhongchang, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, Song Qiang, Deputy Director of the Information Office, Ma Tingting, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Wang Zhen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Cybersecurity, and Yu Liang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Cybersecurity. A number of teachers and students from the university also participated in the event.


Before the start of the event, the university's student art troupe's folk music band delivered a wonderful performance, which was warmly received by the audience. In his speech at the opening ceremony, Chen Zhongchang pointed out that fostering cybersecurity awareness among the youth and nurturing a culture of security is fundamental to the development of the country and the nation. The Cybersecurity Culture Festival reflects the excellent traditional Chinese culture of protecting the homeland and striving for progress, which is highly consistent with the university's characteristic of forging national swords and its motto of "public-spiritedness, integrity, bravery, and tenacity." The event has achieved a combination of national spirit and university spirit, national culture and university culture, and youthful qualities and ideal values. He expressed his hope that the event could develop into a shining pearl in the university's cultural system.

At the opening ceremony, students from the School of Cybersecurity presented a variety of comprehensive performances and live attack and defense demonstrations. The performances, including router control and Windows control, simulated real-life scenarios to showcase the means and methods of hacker attacks. The magic performance cleverly used magic to illustrate knowledge related to cybersecurity, while the phishing email information theft demonstration alerted students to enhance their awareness of prevention. The code-breaking activity allowed students to experience the fun of decryption and challenges. In the knowledge quiz segment, students actively participated, vying to answer questions, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere.




After the opening ceremony, the students were deeply moved. Zhou Jiayi, a student from the School of Computer Science, said that through participating in the knowledge quiz, she realized that her understanding of cybersecurity knowledge was still lacking and needed further learning and improvement. She was determined to enhance her cybersecurity awareness and implement information protection and prevention measures to contribute to cybersecurity. Feng Yangyang, a student from the School of Cybersecurity, indicated that cybersecurity is not just the concern of professionals; everyone should strengthen their prevention awareness and protect the security of personal information. She will actively spread cybersecurity knowledge and make her own contribution to building a secure cyberspace.
It is reported that during the Cybersecurity Culture Festival, the university will successively hold a series of activities, including lectures by renowned experts in the field of cybersecurity, a cybersecurity short video collection, cybersecurity knowledge quizzes, "Cybersecurity Hero Meetings," and live attack and defense exercises. These activities aim to enrich students' campus cultural life, enhance college students' understanding and prevention awareness of cybersecurity, and promote the popularization and dissemination of cybersecurity culture.
This event was coordinated and guided by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, and was jointly organized by the Information Construction and Management Office, the Youth League Committee, and the Art Education Center. It was undertaken by the Information Security Association of Northwestern Polytechnical University and the Youth League Committee of the School of Cybersecurity.
